Tapes - Non Adhesive
We stock a broad range of non-adhesive tapes for many
industries available in various thicknesses widths.
Tapes are used by the electrical industry for wrapping
coils, as a protective covering, for insulating conductors,
and as mechanical reinforcement. They are used in many
applications from the smallest coil to large generators.
OBA have the agency for premium JSI non-adhesive
tapes.

Tapes - Banding Hyperten 2000HP
GENERAL
Hyperten 2000HP resin impregnated uni-directional glass banding tape is rated for Class H (180ºC) operation.
APPLICATIONS
Hyperten 2000HP is designed for banding high speed armatures and rotors. When correctly applied it will form a high tensile insulation band to retain the windings and resist displacement by centrifugal forces. Hyperten 2000HP displays good retention of mechanical strength at elevated temperatures and is particularly suitable for the banding the armatures of railway traction motors. Hyperten 2000HP shows high flexibility, is conformable and can therefore be employed to brace the endwindings of form wound rotating machines and for the bracing of transformer coils.
CONSTRUCTION
Hyperten 2000HP is manufactured using treated uni-directional E glass fibre yarns impregnated with a specially formulated resin/ hardener system. The resin employed promotes high inter yarn adhesion and is cured to a ‘B’ stage during manufacture of the tape. When fully cured Hyperten 2000HP exhibits high mechanical strength, good resistance to moisture and will operate at Class H (180°C) temperatures.
SAFETY AND HANDLING
Attention is drawn to the material safety data sheets which are available for this product. The product covered by this data sheet must not be put into use without a study of the appropriate safety precautions.

Tapes - Conductive Krempel 06ELR14AA
GENERAL
Flexible electrically conductive non-woven fabrics are produced by impregnating non-woven or fabric materials with bonding agents containing electrically conductive particles. The concentration of these particles can be varied.
APPLICATIONS
Electrically conductive materials are used in high-voltage machines, high-voltage transformers and high-voltage cables in order to regulate the overall insulation. They can, when used appropriately increase the reliability and to extend the service life.

Tapes - Cotton
GENERAL
Cotton Tapes and webbing available in various forms, from coarse webbing to fine Egyptian Cotton. The all comply with the requirements of Class A (105°C)
APPLICATIONS
Cotton Tapes are more commonly used in the manufacture of transformer coils that will be submerged in oil. They are also used as ties where the insulation grade is not of importance.
CONSTRUCTION
Cotton Webbing is available in 20, 25 and 32mm widths and is relatively coarse in nature. It is used generally for its high tensile strength relative to cost rather than for its electrical insulation properties.
Cotton Tapes are commonly known as “Egyptian Cotton tapes” and are available in Grey, Standard and Superfine Grades. Generally widths are 12, 16, 20, 25 and 38mm with roll length of 33, 50 or 66 metres. Please check with your nearest OBA office regarding stocked items.
Varnished Cotton, a superfine cotton weave with a light varnish impregnation, suitable for use in Class A environments.
